2) Bolt Initiative

Darryl reviewed findings of the questionnaire that had been sent out to SAE FD&E members. We agreed to introduce the initiative at the Spring 2006 meeting and then possibly have a panel discussion and maybe kick-off of a challenge at the Fall 2006 meeting. Darryl will continue to lead this and prepare a presentation for the Spring 2006 meeting. After feedback from the Spring presentation we will decide on plans for the Fall 2006 meeting.

3) Oakland University

Sayed introduced the “Fastening and Joining Research Institute” at Oakland University .

This consists of a number of Ph.D. students and visiting scholars that investigate joint behavior with consideration of tribology, NDE techniques and combined loadings.
