·          We agreed to increase University involvement, both faculty and students

·          Ralph Stephens retired from the steering committee.

·          Ali will contact other faculty to see if they want to become engaged with FD&E

·          Next Meeting is desired to be in the Detroit area, as we would like to have at least one meeting per year in Detroit . We have a volunteer for the Fall 2009 meeting, Thomas Prucha, tprucha@afsinc.org, American Foundry Society, Schaumburg , Il . We (Christoph) will approach  HongTae Kang, htkang@umich.edu, University of Michigan as a potential host and also AK Khosrovaneh, GM,

·          We are considering April 7 2009, Christoph will check with Safetechnology, nCode, FEMFAT and LMS whether this date conflicts with any user group meetings that these companies may host at that time.

·          Next Chairman: Christoph’s term expires at the next meeting. Potential candidates are Mary Wickham (Christoph to contact) and Mark Pompetzki (Tom to contact).

·          We want to check again if joint activities with the SAE Reliability Committee (under Tacom’s leadership) can be revived
