-----Original Message----- From: Lubinski, Paul [ mailto:Paul.Lubinski(at)ArvinMeritor.com]Sent: Thursday, September 23, 2004 1:30 PM To: John Bonnen (jbonnen(at)ford.com); Leser, Christoph; Russ Chernenkoff (rchernen(at)ford.com) Cc: Hari Agrawal (hagrawal(at)ford.com); Pingsha Dong (dongp(at)battelle.org); Klaus Hofwimmer (klaus.hofwimmer(at)ecs.steyr.com); Bindu Akkala (bindu.akkala(at)lmsna.com) Subject: Corrected PowerPoint, exhaust hanger example for FD&E weld challenge All: Please post the attached file to fatigue.org. If you feel it is appropriate, please post a message at fatigue.org or distribute an e-mail indicating the gist of the corrections & clarifications: * The vehicle-position loading direction is up-right (20 deg. off vertical) to down-left, not up-left to down-right. The photo looks like the latter because of the view from which the photo was taken (a LOOOONNNG time ago). * The test part shown in the photo is NOT the exact part for which the dimensions are shown in the subsequent slides and for which the IGES and/or Catia geometry is available. This photo was just for a typical setup as similar as possible to that used for testing the parts of the subject "weld challenge" geometry. Because these parts are out of production, there is probably no opportunity to create a new photo of the "exact" setup. Thanks, and I apologize for any confusion. Thanks to Michele Wegscheid for helping me find the discrepancies. <<FDE_weld_info_hanger_corrected.ppt>>
